Kava-Kava

Kava-Kava is from the pepper family and is well known in the South Pacific region. Kava-kava as a drink, in capsule form or tincture, can have mild sedative effects on the body helping with stress, anxiety, and sleep issues. It has intoxicating effects on the body, mind, and spirit. In the South Pacific, they are known to have Kava-Kava tents where men go much like they would go to a bar here in the US. Kava-Kava is a strong contender if you battle anxiety or have nervous issues. Only in rare cases does this herb have the opposite effect on a person. The warning for this herb is to not overdo it. Large amounts of Kava-Kava did affect a person with liver disease in one case study. If you are prone to liver disease, Kava-kava may not be a good herb for you. Also, because of its intoxicating effects operating machinery may not be advised.

It is also advised not to give to children or take during pregnancy.
