Marsh Mallow Root

The high content of mucilage and pectin of this herb makes Marsh Mallow Root good from the esophagus to the urinary tract. Marsh Mallow is safe for humans and pets. It has anti-inflammatory properties that act fast in the system for such complaints as laryngitis, sore throats, bronchitis, IBS, kidney irritations, and tissue repair. Marsh Mallow’s pectin is high in fiber that acts to slow down the sugar and release of sugar that usually spikes after a meal helping with blood sugar. As a poultice, it has wonderful emollient properties that work well on damaged tissue, wounds, and benign growths. Marsh Mallow is high in protein and excellent for Vegetarians. Marsh Mallow has been a confectionary since the early 1800s but it was in the early 1900s in France when the sappy mucilage of the root was whipped with sugar, water, and egg whites and dried into a candy mold. This famous candy was called Pate de Guimauve. Marsh Mallow also became the base for throat lozenges. Marsh Mallow contains high nutrient properties. It has iron for the blood, calcium for the bones, keratin for the hair, silica for tissues, and asparagine to strengthen kidneys and ward off bladder irritants.
