Nettle (stinging)

There is so much to say about Nettle, but as with all the herbs on our site, we will only highlight the main uses. First, let me put in a side note that nettle is the most nutrient-dense herb I know. With so many nutrients entering your body it is sure to help with a number of complaints all at the same time. It is rich in iron, protein, chlorophyll, zinc, potassium, calcium, niacin, riboflavin, and vitamins C, E, A, D, K, and B Complex. It was first used by our early settlers as a way to force a sting by hitting it against the painful site to relieve arthritis, forcing the histamines in the plant to numb the arthritis for up to 12 hours. Nettle leaf, root, and now seeds are used. Nettle leaf is good for gout issues, stimulates circulation and blood flow. Uses of the built-in chlorophyll is good for oxygen to the cells giving you more energy. It restores respiratory functions in the presence of a cold, flu, or weakened respiratory system due to chronic illnesses. Due to its quercetin and histamine levels, it relieves symptoms of allergies and hay fever. Nettle will restore balance to the body and with its natural serotonin it helps with brain fog and brain function. Dried and in a tea, capsule, or tincture, nettle will not sting.
